Appreciate your research into this.

While we must thoroughly reject this, in the long run we have to terminate government run schools (and probably libraries). They have way too much power over us.

I am grateful you are doing this.

AGAIN, This happens because there are billionaire, unaccountable forces at play.

Another billionaire family involved heavily in pushing porn, deadly hormones and mutilating surgeries, is the PRITZGER family..Yes you read that right..One of those Pritzger's (Jennifer) is TRANS.

This is the ROOT of the problem.

And how this is ALLOWED in Florida is beyond me. Christina says that new law allows parents to challenge porn in their childs school. That's all well and good but WHY is it allowed in DeSantis state in the first place???

My grandchildren are in this school district and one of them will be going to one of the schools on that list. We are working hard to get school board candidates elected later this month that will help put a stop to this madness. Hillsborough county and the school board are largely controlled by democrats. These people need to be voted out now. We will know if we are successful on August 23rd.

Why don’t you challenge the book under the new law and get it removed? You don’t need to wait for new school board members to take action.

Not waiting on the school board. One of the candidates has already brought this up to them. Actively helping to get her elected. If any of you are in Hillsborough County vote Aly Marie Legge on August 23rd. https://votealymarielegge.com

That didn’t really answer my question

Parents have the right to go into their child’s school and inspect the books and use the law to get them removed. I am not the parent or legal guardian. This is my way of effecting change - to try to get candidates elected that align with my family values. Sorry that’s not good enough for you. End of story.

That makes sense. I didn’t post judgement, sorry if it came across that way, I just asked why you couldn’t request the book removed rather than waiting for an election. Sorry if it came across differently.

The rules are the same here (except they’ll put up roadblocks to prevent actual inspection). My kids go to a private Christian school, so I have to do the same thing you are. It does get infuriating because my friends who have kids in public school ask all the time for me to challenge this stuff, present data, speak up at the school board meetings, etc. They want us to take all the public blowback, despite the fact the argument isn’t exactly compelling coming from parents whose kids aren’t directly impacted (all of them are indirectly because we all live together).

I find myself explaining a lot I’ll help in every way that is effective, and do all the research, go with them etc, but parents of private school kids being the ones front and center to challenge the books and ideology is both ineffective and counterproductive. But I can and do still help.

It's horrific what "educators" are providing to American children. Why not Playboy, HCSD? Unbelievable. The parents in that district will have to come together against this if it's ever going to be stopped.

THANK YOU for bring attention to this!! I’ve been fighting and researching the inordinate amount of pornographic books in Hillsborough County for a year- if you’d like to know the thousands of other books I’ve been fighting at 18 school board meetings, please reach out! Find me on facebook! There is a coalition of fighters and we are doing our best to get the word out. I read from Gender Queer to the board, and they didn’t care. “This Book is Gay” is another one in Hillsborough that needs attention- it has a chapter called “The Ins and Outs of Gay Sex”…you can guess how graphic that is. And it’s in MIDDLE SCHOOL.
