Oak Park High School students in Kansas City, Missouri just got sent a message loud and clear: boys are just better at things than girls are. Even at being a girl. Tristan Young, a male student who identifies as a female, was crowned the homecoming queen this week. He beat out four lovely female candidates because actually identifying as the gender that you are is like, sooo 2010.
I've never really cared much personally for these contests but some people certainly do and it's unfair that it's getting stolen from them. Crowning a dude in a dress is just virtue signaling. Everyone knows the dude shouldn't have won.
By and large parents have been silent in their protests against the manhandling of their daughters. As long as that continues girls will be victims and insanity will rule.
Is it possible students were coerced into voting for this obviously ugly person for their homecoming queen? Every one of those young ladies is more attractive than he is. The fake smiles on all their faces tell the true story.
I wouldn't be surprised if they found ways to intimidate students into voting for him (e.g., somehow making their vote public) but it's also possible that maybe 1/3 of the students are indoctrinated into the cult of wokism and voted for him, then the remaining 2/3 of students divided their votes up among the four women.
Itr starts with the School Board - Get rid of the woke liberals who not only allow this travesty but promote it. It's sad for for the boy who won because at best it was a sympathy vote and at worst a mockery/joke and he's being laughted at and doesn't even know it.
Interesting though how the other four women are seen to be playing along with it like it's normal and acceptable, in the posed photo. They surely are pressured into that, but remember Riley Gaines and the other women swimmers, after they lost to the swimmer dude? Those photos are iconic, and sent a message they were not ok with what happened.
But you know they would have been brutally attacked by the wokie cult. And administrators would not have come to their defense.
I've given up on public schools. They're a monopoly, and that's inherently bad, but now we see the worst of what it can lead to. School Choice is a good start at breaking that monopoly.

I think a LOT of teenagers would vote for the guy just as a prank. They do not get that they are telling someone who is suffering from a delusion that the delusion is real. They are being cruel without realizing it. But the government and media should know better so when they do it, it is unbelievable cruelty.

I don't know KC well enough to have an opinion, but will guess it's a combination of your two ideas, plus their teenage children who are being indoctrinated into this garbage, are being taught to disrespect their parents, and are free to place such votes with no input from parents. So, even if the parents objected to it, it could be an act of teenage rebellion to vote for the boy.
My husband is from KC and we have a lake house on the Ozarks. I’m unfamiliar with KC as well but my husbands 98 year old mother and the females in his family will not even engage in this discussion with me or my hubby. We’re both in psychiatry and firmly believe in two genders. It’s issues like this that made me choose Nashville over KC as my family here are very conservative and his staunch liberals. Still surprises me in middle America even though I know the reach of this insane-yes insane-movement

Don-absolutely. I’m from here so moved back to my old stomping grounds not far from Vanderbilt. Vandy is full on woke. Only after exposure to a video leaked of woman in crowded auditorium speaking from the podium at the medical center to I assume all sorts MD’s-staff stated the “transgender surgeries are big money makers”-and pressure from Matt Walsh and a great journalist-and the part of Nashville that remains science based and ethical-along with bunch of politicians that Vanderbilt was forced to shut down the trans surgical “money maker” I also live about 2 blocks from the Covenant school where a nutcase violent and psychiatrically impaired woman, dressed like a man-murdered 6. Including 3 kids 6 years old. We have filed FOIA requests for release of her manifesto which undoubtedly contains info trans community and our govt don’t want released. The DOJ got involved. I’ve been to multiple rallies that have tried to bring the truth out about these surgeries. The transgender supporters, or maybe just paid performers scream so loud you can’t hear the speakers. I think many gay people are against the ideology. There is a group called “gays against groomers” knowing many of these people are pedophiles. Because if you think about it, transgender men to women (meaning men) are destroying women. However, Nashville (for now) remains mostly sane.

Voting for a guy dressing like a guy and not pretending to be a girl would be a vote for showing that the popularity contests are absurd. I would do that. I would not vote for one who wants to pretend he's a girl.
