Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy was huge when I was in middle school among us Nerds. I asked our Librarian why it wasn't in the Library and she said and I quote, "It isn't age appropriate". True story from 1985 my how times have changed.
We need help in Northbrook/IL. The public library has "Gender Queer" in the Teens study room. I have been going to the library at 3:30pm when children are leaving school, there are often 5-10 children about 10 years old in average in that study room. The book is at arms length from the table where they sit to do their homework.

Just to put in contrast, in Chicago all copies of Gender Queer are in the ADULT sections of those libraries, generally a special more isolated room

Anyone ever heard of consequences?
I find it hard to believe these queer and explicit books just accidentally ended up in the library.
Someone had to have ordered it, unboxed it and stuck on a barcode.
Maybe firing the librarian and the dips that ordered the book would lay out penalties for putting this smut in school libraries?
Yet, all that happens is a 'surprised look' and yes we will remove.
