RESULTS: The ADL CAVES to Libs of TikTok
After a multiweek saga of exchanges, the ADL has caved, removing Libs of TikTok from their 'Glossary of Extremism'
On October 24th, 2023, Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik called out the ADL and gave them 1 week to remove her from their ‘Glossary of Extremism.’ Libs of TikTok/Chaya were put there in 2022. This list is supposedly dedicated to tracking “extremist” organizations such as Al-Qaeda and Hamas. Chaya took to X(Twitter) to demand that her name be removed from the list which is associated with terrorist organizations.
A few days after making her public statement, ADL reached out over a private DM, acknowledging her statement and agreeing to remove her name but refuting her claims stating, “As a preliminary matter, we disagree with your assertions that the ADL has done anything defamatory or otherwise harmful to you.” You can read the full statement below.
The ADL also gave a statement to the Pro-LGBT news site, The Advocate, stating, “We are aware of the [Chaya’s] demands and are investigating…”
They, however, refused to comment on Chaya’s potential legal action against them.
On October 28th, the ADL caved to the backlash and removed all mentions of LoTT and Chaya Raichik from their ‘Glossary of Extremism.’
This did not stop various pro-LGBT and left-leaning publications from voicing their disdain for the ADL’s actions in removing LoTT from their list.
Some on Twitter went as far as to call the ADL “cowards” for “caving to terrorists.”
However, where were the left-wing activists and news publications when it was discovered that a lead Southern Poverty Law Center attorney participated in an unlawful anti-Israel protest on Capitol Hill? The SPLC has labeled Chaya Raichik as a “terrorist” while their attorneys participate in an insurrection and riot.
