Jimmy Heyward: The Young American Patriot
In a country where patriotism is under assault by woke left-wing institutions, it’s truly special when someone so young expresses their love for the United States.
Jimmy Heyward, a 7th-grade student in California, became an internet sensation after Libs of TikTok shared a video of him delivering an inspirational and patriotic campaign speech for the position of “Commissioner of Patriotism & School Spirit” at his school.
However, when his school principal Mary Flock reviewed his speech, she claimed that it was too patriotic and demanded that Jimmy remove all mention of patriotism from his speech. When he refused, Jimmy was denied the ability to read his speech to the student body and was forced to sit on stage as others gave theirs.
When Ed Heyward, Jimmy’s father, confronted Principal Flock over her poor decision, the school attempted to have the police remove him from the premises. After Ed explained the situation to the police, they appreciated being included in Jimmy’s speech and allowed Ed to stay.
Once the video went viral across the internet, Mary Flock quickly deleted her X account to avoid the public backlash.
Chaya Raichik sat down with the Heyward family for an exclusive interview where Jimmy explained how he never expected this video to become so popular and encouraged others across the nation to “love your country, respect your country, and respect the people that fight for us.”
Jimmy’s mother Hattie revealed how thankful she is for all of the support from both her local and online community stating that it’s been the “strength that kept us going.”
Due to the story, a recent petition has opened calling for the resignation of Principal Mary Flock. In just a few days, it has gathered over 6,500 signatures, breaking multiple set goals.
Following the release of the interview, Saint Bonaventure Schools sent out an email to parents and the community notifying them that Mary Flock would not be returning as principal for the 2024/25 school year.
Despite the media attention, Jimmy’s primary hope is to secure victory in his school election so he can help educate his classmates about American history and patriotism.
Every American should look to Jimmy as a shining example of courage and true leadership.

Well God bless his little heart and his parents for raising such a great kid. If young Jimmy manages to teach his peers about true American History then it will quite possibly be the only time they’ll ever hear it. It’s disappointing that now even traditional Christian schools are going woke. It’s been a very long time since I attended Catholic primary school but back then we had black robed nuns with the very rare lay teacher filling in.
I understand the new pope is pretty much anti-American giving much criticism of our wanting borders. I know there are thousands of devout Catholics in America who are quite patriotic.
